Genebyond is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientists (Senior Scientist / Scientist/ Associate Scientist) with extensive experience in cell biology and protein engineering to join us participating in biotherapeutic discovery and development. The successful candidate will have demonstrated in-depth knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and ability to execute high quality creative scientific work independently and collaboratively.

1. Research Scientist-Protein and Antibody Engineering

     Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for molecular cloning, protein and antibody expression in various systems including bacterial and mammalian cells, purification and characterization
  • Responsible for cell culture, chemical and cell-based assays, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), DNA library construction and screening.
  • Participate in antibody generation, optimization and characterization.
  • Provide critical lab support and collaboration in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic and cross-functional work environment to advance company goals.
  • Maintain a lab notebook and contribute to support documentation.

     Requirements:

  • PhD/MS/BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline with 2-5-year academic or industrial experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and experience with early-stage drug discovery as it pertains to protein and antibody-based biotherapeutics
  • Proficiency with vector design, molecular cloning, protein expression with E. coli, mammalian cell systems (HEK293, CHO)
  • Proficiency with AKTA protein purification with affinity chromatography, IEX, SEC, etc.
  • Hands on in homology modeling, surface plasmon resonance (SPR), flow cytometry FACS, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, microscopy are required, HPLC is a plus.
  • Familiarity with antibody immunoassay and functional assay development
  • Backgrounds in oncology, immunology and cell biology are preferred.
  • Must be able to perform daily functions independently with little to no instructions on routine work, and with general instructions on new assignments.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible with the ability to handle rapidly changing objectives and timelines.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and diligent in experimental design, data analysis and review
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

2. Research Scientist-Cell Biology

    Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiment design, mammalian cell culture, transfection, molecular cloning, protein expression, molecular biology, cell signaling, flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, etc.
  • Implement biochemical and cellular functional assays (flow cytometry, immune cell quantification, PBMC stimulation and coculture assays, etc.) to support biotherapeutic discovery and development.

     Requirements:

  • PhD in Cell Biology, or other relevant biological science, with 2+ years of experience preferred; MS/BS with 3-5+ years of experience considered.
  • Hands-on expertise with multiparametric flow cytometry, primary cells and/or immune cell experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
